Happy Lunar New Year!

Today marks the start of the year of the Water Dragon. I've had a lovely morning exchanging New Year greetings and red packets with family, followed by helping my mum prepare her annual New Year vegetarian dish and now we're just lounging around thinking of which shopping mall to go hang out in to get out of this heat. Traditional stuff :).

So, one of the best part of Lunar New Year is the cookies! The photo on here is of one of my absolute favorite New Year cookies, called Kuih Bang Kek (I'm not sure how to 'spell' it and I don't know the Chinese characters or name for it either). It has a wonderful melt in your mouth texture and it's seriously addictive, I could eat it all day long. Which I try really hard not to do with so many other yummy stuff to eat!

Anyway, I wanted to wish all of you who are celebrating Lunar New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai! Have a wonderful Year of the Dragon and may this holiday season be a lovely one filled with the 4Fs: family, friends, fun and food!
