Hooby Groovy Animals and Ninjas invade Penang to do some charity work!

As I mentioned before, I grew up in Malaysia and lived there for the first 17 years of my life. Almost half of that, the best half actually because it was the 'school-holidays' half, was spent on an island called Penang. And out of anywhere in the world that I've ever been to, Penang is and I think will always be my favourite place ever. To illustrate my love for Penang, let me tell you of another great love of mine, music! There are some very beautiful pieces of music that I could probably listen to over and over again without ever tiring of it. Like Debussy's Clair de Lune, or most of Joe Hisaishi's Okuribito just to name two. Both are pieces that I have never listened to while in Penang in my childhood. Yet whenever I hear these pieces of, all my thoughts and senses feel like I'm in Penang and it is a wonderfully nostalgic and peaceful feeling.

So why this sudden reflection and outpouring of love for a childhood holiday home? Because now in my adult life, I get to give a little bit back to a place that I so strongly identify with, beyond all the money I've poured into their economy by eating all the yummy Penang food that is. (Penang = best food ever, could possibly be a big contributing factor as to why I love Penang so much)

So no, I'm not going to go on a major gluttony tour of Penang anytime soon, but a few of my Hooby Groovy products are! Well they're going to Penang anyway, whether or not they will get to partake in any of the wonderful food is not yet confirmed. I hope not, I don't think their felt tummies can quite handle anything other than iPads...

Anyway, I've been given an opportunity to participate in a charity auction. It will be part of an event called Amazing 31 Carnival. Here are the important details:

There's a whole lot of other items on auction, the one I wish I could be there for would be a new 16GB iPad (3rd gen wi-fi model), I really would like to upgrade my iPad 1 :p.

And if you're not going to be able to attend the auction but would still like to get your paws on a Hooby Groovy iPad case, the Animals of Hooby Groovy Land Collection is on sale for $10 off (prices are as marked) until the 18th July, so head on over to the Hooby Groovy shop!
